Donor Impact

WITH YOUR SUPPORT, WE CAN HAVE A REAL IMPACT ON PATIENT LIVES THROUGH INNOVATION IN VASCULAR TREATMENT.

Every year, vascular disease kills more Americans than any other disease, accident, or act of violence. We believe many of these deaths are preventable with the right tools and the right care. So, at the Jacobs Institute, we’re creating ground-breaking, life-saving new technology to fight vascular disease. With your help, we can get that technology out of the lab and into the hands of the doctors who need it.

As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors and foundations to pioneer a better way to develop life-saving advances in vascular medicine. Donate today to help us improve vascular disease treatment for our community and the world. Together, we can save hearts, minds, and lives.

Impact & Results

At the Jacobs Institute, we’re reinventing the way vascular disease research, prevention, and treatment has always been done. By breaking down the barriers between experts, doctors, engineers, patients, visionaries, researchers, and donors like you, we harness the power of collaboration to spur otherwise unavailable technology innovation in the treatment of vascular disease and conduct critical clinical education to ensure better patient outcomes for millions of people affected by these vascular and neurological diseases. When the best minds work together, we can inspire a new standard of care for patients by innovating faster and more effectively.

Together, we can significantly reduce the devastating impact of vascular disease, so we can save thousands of individual, invaluable, irreplaceable, human lives.

The JI does this in three key ways:

  1. We shorten the time it takes to turn a good idea into a life-saving device through our Idea to Reality (i2R) Center.
  2. We empower industry professionals to become better clinical partners by providing experiential learning and training for physicians, industry executives, sales representatives, and engineers.
  3. We strengthen the next generation of STEM innovators through education programs for high school and college students that teach them about vascular disease and future careers in healthcare.

Why Our Donors Are So Important

  • Every 34 seconds in the United States, someone dies of heart disease. Annually, vascular disease deaths are more than 25x AIDS-related deaths and more than10x accidental deaths.
  • Each year, 600,000 people suffer from a stroke. About 10% recover fully. 30% die. 60% become disabled.
  • To find better ways of treating and preventing heart attacks and stroke, the JI needs continued support from transformational donors. The JI is the only place in the world that serves as an independently operated nonprofit, ISO-certified medical innovation center with an on-site FDA resource situated between a state-of-the-art hospital and a world-class research facility.
  • The JI wants to launch a new era in medical advancement and education through community partnerships by accelerating the development of novel medical technologies and providing educational opportunities for medical professionals around the globe and our Buffalo neighbors – effectively ushering in the future of medicine together.
