Brain Boot Camp

INSPIRE YOUR STUDENTS, REQUEST A BRAIN BOOT CAMP TODAY!

Do you have students who want to learn about stroke and heart attack? Or try a medical simulator? Or see a 3D printer? Or hear from health and science professionals about potential careers? Here at the Jacobs Institute, we can make it happen! Our 2.5-hour Brain Boot Camps educate and inspire.

The Jacobs Institute Brain Boot Camp is a special opportunity to teach schoolchildren about heart attack and stroke, signs and symptoms, treatments, and more. We customize our programs to teach students about what educators want to highlight! Students can learn about heart attack and stroke symptoms, work on a medical simulator, see a 3D-printed heart, watch a pre-recorded medical procedure (if appropriate), do fun engineering activities, learn about healthier fast food options, hear from professionals in STEM and healthcare, and tour our unique facility.

If you are interested in requesting a Brain Boot Camp, please sign up for our email list to learn when dates are available. If you have questions please contact Heather Campbell, Education Coordinator, at hcampbell@jacobsinstitute.org.

The requests are limited to one per school. We ask for no more than 25 attendees per tour, including chaperones. Please note that the Jacobs Institute does not cover any costs or provide any transportation or refreshments.

We are excited to have you and your students visit in the upcoming school year!

STUDENT & TEACHER TESTIMONIALS

“I experienced many new and exciting things that I would not have had access to outside on this field trip. Because of this experience, I am now considering many more jobs in the medical field that I was just a few days ago.”–7th grader, Nardin Academy

“I really appreciate that you motivated me to push myself to my highest potential and furthest ability. I believe in myself and my future. Thank you for teaching me ‘It’s Possible!'”–11th grader, Health Sciences Charter School

“The kids were so impressed with all the cutting edge technology happening right here in Buffalo. A mom of one of the girls from the trip thanked us because she actually had a whole conversation with her teenage daughter. Her daughter wanted to tell her all about it!”–Teacher, Hamburg Health Science Academy
