About Will Sutton

William “Will” Sutton is the Chief Operating Officer at the Jacobs Institute, bringing over 30 years of experience in medical device innovation, engineering, and commercialization to Buffalo’s medical innovation ecosystem.

Throughout his career, Will has successfully guided more than 100 medical technologies from initial concept to commercialization. Prior to joining the Jacobs Institute, he led large-scale engineering, product development, and quality operations at several premier medical technology companies, including Minnetronix Medical, Forj Medical, Hansen Medical, and St. Jude Medical. Notably, at Minnetronix, he managed a team of over 200 engineers and technical professionals tasked with developing complex medical systems and scaling innovation.

A Western New York native, Will is a named inventor on four patents and holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. Guided by a deep-rooted family legacy in medicine, he is dedicated to driving patient-centered innovation and service excellence at the Jacobs Institute.
