Katie Simon is the Development Manager at the Jacobs Institute. In this role, she supports the mission and vision of the JI through philanthropy activities, such as community cultivation, grant initiatives, and major donor outreach. Katie was previously the JI's Development Coordinator and started here as a communications and development intern where she supported grant initiatives and content creation.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and a Master’s in Communication Arts & Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University. At Penn State, she was a public speaking instructor for undergraduate students. Katie is published as second author in the Health Communication journal for her collaboration on a study, titled “Interpreting Cancer Survivors’ Perceptions of the Survivor Label Through Social Identity and Communication Accommodation Theories.”
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, reading, and exploring new places in Buffalo.
