Julia (Pietromicca) Victor is the Education Assistant at the Jacobs Institute, where she supports the coordination of educational programming, including college and high school internships, group visits, and community outreach. She began at the Jacobs Institute as an Engineering Intern, playing a key role in developing the four-year curriculum for the Jacobs Scholars Program, which supports the academic and professional development of local high school students through mentorship, hands-on learning experiences, and exposure to cutting-edge research in healthcare and engineering.
Julia is currently pursuing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University at Buffalo (UB), where her research focuses on how mechanical forces, like blood pressure, influence vascular health and disease, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Binghamton University. Her work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the UB Presidential Fellowship, the Western New York Prosperity Fellowship, and the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) American Dissertation Fellowship, highlighting her dedication to scientific discovery and community engagement.
Outside of work and school, Julia enjoys reading, taking long walks with her husband and dog, and exploring all the incredible restaurants across WNY.
