Jim is an accomplished broadcast technician who brings over 15 years of live television experience to the Jacobs Institute.
He developed his strong work ethic in the news photography departments of Buffalo’s ABC and NBC television affiliates where he earned two Emmy Award nominations, two NYS Broadcasters Association awards, and several Associated Press and National Press Photographers Association honors.
Here at the JI, Jim is responsible for managing the Jacobs Institute’s audiovisual (A/V) infrastructure, including the one-of-kind broadcast facility that’s embedded within the endovascular suites at Kaleida Health’s Gates Vascular Institute at Buffalo General Medical Center.
He works with all levels of JI management to assist with live clinical broadcasts, recording of surgical procedures, video conferencing of engineering test sessions, and livestreaming of JI promotional events.
Jim earned his degree in Communication and Media Arts from SUNY Erie.
He sits on the board of the Danial J. Adamczyk Memorial Foundation whose mission provides education about the fatal nature of prescription drug abuse and provide resources to prevent addiction. He is an active member of the Western New York Mountain Bicycling Association, and is a life member of New York State’s oldest firefighter drum corps unit, the Pine Hill Drum and Bugle Corps.
Jim is a lifelong resident of the Town of Cheektowaga where he makes his home with his wife Jessica.
