Dan Rathbone is a Staff Engineer responsible for leading medical device development and engineering projects at the Jacobs Institute, where he has driven the early-stage design of several catheter-based and implantable devices.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Yale University, Dan started his engineering career at a medical device contract design and development firm where he led projects developing cardiac assist and catheter-delivered devices. Dan later earned a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before joining the Jacobs Institute in 2018.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with family and walking in the woods, ideally at the same time.
