Alex Grenning is a Senior Program Manager at the Jacobs Institute. In this role, Alex focuses on programs driving growth of the JI’s 3D printed anatomical model operation, while also supporting the pipeline of i2R device development projects.
Prior to his role at the JI, Alex was an Engineering Manager at Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), where he was responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in the design, development, and manufacture of external wearable medical devices. In addition to the execution of numerous device development projects, Alex led a comprehensive Design History File (DHF) remediation program on a FDA Class III (PMA) external defibrillation accessory. Furthermore, Alex was integral to the implementation of NMT’s Design Control processes for medical device development in accordance with ISO 13485.
As a Buffalo native, Alex received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, and his Master of Business Administration from Canisius College.
Alex volunteers with the University at Buffalo’s Blackstone LaunchPad expert-in-residence program where he mentors students, alumni, and entrepreneurs to support their startup needs.
Alex spends his free time with his girlfriend and their Bengal cat, Theo. He also enjoys golfing, cycling, and traveling whenever possible.
