Philanthropic Mission

At the Jacobs Institute (JI), our mission is simple: to be the catalyst for our donors’ affinity to help develop the future of vascular medicine and save lives.

The JI recruits the best clinical and engineering staff to pioneer new methods of treatment for vascular disease, in which heart attack is the number one cause of death and stroke is the number one cause of long-term disability in the US (American Heart Association, 2018).

Pioneering the Future of Medicine

As an independent 501(c)(3), the JI is led by engineers, physicians and business leaders collaborating to pioneer a better way to develop life-saving advances. As a nonprofit organization, our focus is on patients and bringing advanced treatment to them more quickly. Thanks to philanthropic support from the Jacobs Family and other major donors, our i2R (Idea to Reality Center) advances innovative medical device ideas, positioning the JI as the leading neurovascular innovation center in the world.

By uniting clinicians and engineers to help patients who have been told there is no hope, we reject the status quo of current treatments in order to pioneer new medical technologies. We look beyond the boundaries of established protocols to create new and revolutionary medical device advancements. None of this would be possible without continued philanthropic support to fund these expensive endeavors.

In giving to the JI, you help transform the future of medicine by changing the course for people confronting the most challenging vascular-related disorders.

The Jacobs Institute is profoundly grateful for the generous support of individual donors and Western New York foundations that have demonstrated a commitment to our mission and vision. Thanks to them, we are able to focus on strengthening our relationships with clinicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry to yield promising new innovations.
